Meet Our Hearing Professionals
Beth Thomas
Audiologist, Owner
Prior to opening her own practice, Beth worked in research at Starkey Hearing Technologies. Following this, she worked at Expert Hearing and Audiology, where she fit over 800 hearing aids in two years. Beth's favorite part about the work she does is helping people connect back to do the things they love with better hearing.
Her over 20-year career began at the Cleveland Clinic where she fit some of the most difficult and challenging cases. In the late 90’s, as a staff audiologist at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, she was the head coordinator of the universal screening program for the Neonatal and well-baby populations.
Beth earned her degrees at Michigan State University and her Masters of Science in Audiology at Wayne State University. In her spare time Beth enjoys cheering on Spartan teams (when they are doing well!) and spending time with her daughters and friends.
Katie Benson
Audiologist
Dr. Katie Benson joined HEAR Today in October of 2023. She brings an extensive knowledge of private practice. Her previous work experience in private practice was 'from the ground up', she was a patient coordinator, moving up to audiology assistant and office manager and after she earned her degree she was a staff audiologist. Katie grew up in a small town in southeastern Iowa. Unless you know Iowa, she may say “you have never heard of it, it’s in a cornfield!” She earned her B.A.in Communication Science and Disorders in 2017 from the University of Iowa. Katie earned her doctorate degree in audiology in 2022 from the University of Cincinnati.
She has been visiting the Twin Cities for the last seven years and has a great network of friends encouraging her to come north. She moved to Minnesota and is excited to be a part of the HEAR Today team. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and enjoys going to American Academy of Audiology events each year. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, traveling and watching sports. She especially loves cheering on the Hawkeyes!
